QilinArtX: The Living Spirit of Eastern Aesthetics

Welcome to QilinArtX — a space dedicated entirely to Chinese art. Our name carries our story: the Qilin, a benevolent mythical creature, represents the depth of Eastern aesthetics; Art speaks for itself; and X is our promise of multiplicity and growth.

  • Qilin: A mythical beast in Chinese lore, symbolizing wisdom, good fortune, and renewal. It is the cultural root of everything we show here — the quiet thread that runs through every piece in our collection.

  • Art: Needs no explanation.

  • X:The multiplier. It stands for diversity, for expansion, for all the possibilities ahead — an art-themed café, a space, a lifestyle. Whatever grows from the love of beauty. Also the variable,it stands for bespoke creation. Bring us a photograph, a sketch, a 3D model, an idea — and we will turn it into something you can hold, in bronze, in wood, in lasting form.

Every piece in this shop comes from China. Sculptures, wall art, objects for the desk — all are things I believe deserve a place in your life.

Visit our online gallery, where new pieces arrive often. And when you’re ready to create something of your own, our custom service is here to help.

To My New & Old Friends

First, forgive me if this shop doesn’t look as polished or professional as it should. I did my best.

I hired a service to build the basic structure, but much of the content and fine-tuning is up to me—and I’m still learning. There may be a few rough edges. Please bear with me—I’ll improve it step by step.

I was born in Beijing, China, and I grew up learning to draw. I wouldn’t say I was particularly gifted, but the discipline of drawing—the patience, the careful observation, the slow attention to form—stayed with me. Over the past twenty years, I worked in finance, and that work took me across continents. I was lucky to experience many different cultures and their ways of seeing beauty. But the deeper I traveled, the more I understood something: my eyes have always been shaped by where I come from.

Everything in this shop comes from China. Not because I think one culture is better than another, but because I believe the things that move us are often the things that know us best. The texture of bronze, the curve of a rooftop, the quiet presence of a scholar’s stone—these are the languages I grew up speaking. Now, I want to share them with you.

You’ll find all kinds of things here: sculptures, wall art, functional objects with artistic design, small pieces for your desk, and other things that caught my eye. Some are my own work; most are pieces I’ve discovered—from artists I’ve met, from workshops I’ve stumbled upon, from corners of the country where people still make things by hand. I call myself a curator, because I believe that finding good things is a skill in itself. But really, I’m just someone who loves what he loves, and I hope you might love it too.

I ran a shop on Etsy for four years, and I was proud to maintain a perfect five-star rating. Eventually, the shop was shut down—probably because Etsy doesn’t yet welcome sellers from China. So here I am, building my own space. It may not be perfect, but it’s mine. And like everything here, it comes from a place that matters to me.

This section was meant for customer reviews. The company that helped me build this site suggested adding a few “fake reviews” to boost credibility. I said no. Not because I couldn’t, but because I wouldn’t. I believe trust is something to be earned, not manufactured. Here is a screenshot from my Etsy shop—81 sales, all with five-star reviews, every one of them earned. (https://www.etsy.com/shop/whalesongartricky)

You’ll notice I don’t sort things by category. I don’t separate “my work” from “my finds.” To me, what matters isn’t the category—it’s whether an object carries something worth holding onto. I trust my eyes. I hope you’ll trust them too.

Most pieces are made to order, and I also sell through other channels, so occasionally something may be out of stock. If a piece is no longer in production, I will issue a full refund. So please feel free to check with me before placing your order. And if you have any questions, reach out—time zones don’t scare me. I’ll always reply within the day. Scan the QR code below to connect with me on WhatsApp.

Stop by whenever you like. I’ll keep adding new things, and some older pieces may eventually be discontinued. And if there’s something you’d like to bring to life, take a look at the custom order page. I’d be honored to work with you.

May we both find, in the things we choose to live with, a little more of what makes life beautiful.
